Understanding EPG listings and XMLTV
Wemovexa IPTV shows now and next information when it is available from the source. Missing programme data does not prevent a channel from playing.
The guide answers a different question from the player
A video stream tells you what is on screen. An electronic programme guide tells you what the programme is called, when it is scheduled and what follows it. Keeping those jobs separate helps with troubleshooting. A channel can play normally while its guide entry is empty or out of date. Equally, a programme title can be visible while the media server refuses playback. The two results come from different requests, so a working guide should not be treated as proof that the video connection is healthy.
What you can actually open
The current Wemovexa IPTV interface includes now and next information and a Guide panel within the player controls. There is no standalone Guide tab in the main navigation: that navigation button was removed. The available experience is focused on programme information around channel viewing, rather than a promised multi-day schedule grid. When no useful listing is available, the interface can show an unavailable state without disabling channel selection. Search, categories and favourites help locate channels, but they cannot fill in programme details that the source has not supplied.
XMLTV describes schedules, not media
XMLTV is a structured way to associate channel identifiers with programme titles and times. The service includes an XMLTV processing path for its server-backed guide. It reads the document incrementally and caches a smaller derived result, instead of asking every browser to download a potentially large source file. Channel matching uses guide identifiers and available names. If a provider changes an identifier, a programme entry may stop matching even though the channel’s visible label looks unchanged. That is a data association problem rather than a video codec problem.
Assigned Xtream lines have a short-guide path
The application can also request a short list of programmes directly from the assigned line’s Xtream panel. It works out which item is current and which is next from the returned times. Requests are limited to channels on the displayed page and use bounded concurrency. This avoids fetching the entire schedule whenever a small portion of the catalogue is visible. It also means that you should not assume every account uses the server’s XMLTV cache. The Xtream access guide explains how assigned source details reach the application.
There is no manual XMLTV import screen
Finding an XMLTV file elsewhere does not add a new setup option to this web player. The interface has no general URL field or upload control for a personal guide document. Start by checking whether your own provider publishes listings through the assigned line. If your requirements include merging independent guides, editing channel mappings or browsing a large schedule grid, assess tools that explicitly document those capabilities. The TiviMate comparison provides a place to consider those requirements without implying that Wemovexa IPTV implements them.
Work out whether the gap is local or widespread
Check another authorised channel before changing anything. A single blank entry may point to missing source data or a mapping mismatch. Empty listings across the whole selection could indicate an unavailable panel or a failed network request. For incorrect times, check the device clock as well as the displayed schedule. XMLTV processing accounts for the offset included in source timestamps, while Xtream responses carry their own time fields. Neither path can reliably correct a schedule that the provider itself has published with the wrong time.
- Compare two channels and note whether one or both are affected.
- Test playback separately from the programme information.
- Allow the guide to refresh rather than repeatedly opening extra sessions.
- If the issue remains, report the channel name and observed time to the provider without exposing your account credentials.
This gives a much clearer report than simply saying that IPTV is not working. It also avoids changing a functioning source address to solve an unrelated missing title.
A schedule entry is not a recording
Knowing that a programme aired earlier does not make its video available to replay. An EPG is descriptive data. This version does not claim built-in catch-up playback, scheduled recording or offline downloads. Likewise, the seek controls available for a movie do not turn a live channel into an archive. The glossary separates catch-up, video on demand, guide data and seeking. If replay is essential to your viewing routine, verify it as its own requirement instead of assuming that any player with an EPG must support it.
Choose the next check based on the symptom
When both guide requests and video fail, the proxy, CORS and mixed-content explanation may help identify the network layer involved. If the issue is navigating the interface, use the Android guide or the Windows PC guide. The FAQ covers common access and playback questions. These pages do not provide an independent editorial schedule, channels or playlists.
