Using an Xtream Codes line in your browser

Wemovexa IPTV loads the Xtream line assigned to your access. Your provider supplies the source; the player supplies the interface and supported playback paths.

Start with the provider account

An Xtream line is described by a server address, a username and a password. If the server address includes a port, that port matters. The player uses these details to request information from the provider’s panel, including categories and channel entries. They are account credentials rather than a video file. Some providers include the same details in an M3U export link, but an arbitrary playlist is not necessarily an Xtream account. The M3U format guide explains how to tell the two situations apart without publishing your source.

Player access and provider credentials serve different purposes

The web sign-in form asks for an access identifier and a recovery code. Those belong to your access to the player. The Xtream username and password belong to your provider account. In the current workflow, a line is assigned through access administration and delivered to the application with its configuration. Pasting a provider password into the recovery-code field will not connect the two systems. If sign-in fails before you see any channels, first establish which set of credentials you are actually using.

This distinction is about function, not a promise that the browser never receives provider credentials. The application saves assigned line details in local storage, and relayed requests send the necessary target information to the service. The proxy and privacy explanation covers that data path.

A useful first-session checklist

  1. Confirm that your own legal subscription is active and allows the intended device and viewing arrangement.
  2. Check that the correct Xtream line has been assigned to your existing access. Keep both sets of credentials private.
  3. Open the player in an up-to-date browser and sign in using the player identifier and recovery code.
  4. Let the catalogue load, find one channel you are entitled to watch and test playback before organising favourites.

No application installation is required for this browser workflow. A network connection, a valid access and compatible media support are still necessary. If no line is assigned, resolve that with the person managing your access before treating the empty screen as a video problem.

Metadata and video are separate requests

The live catalogue is built from Xtream category and stream information. Search and favourites help narrow the resulting list. Selecting an entry starts a different request for the actual media. The provider may allow the catalogue while refusing playback, so visible channel names are not proof of a working stream. The application also has movie and series views, with details and episode selection when the corresponding data is available. Those interfaces describe player capabilities; they do not mean that particular titles are included with your access or that every provider exposes them.

What the built-in proxy changes

An HTTP stream inside an HTTPS page can be blocked as mixed content. The normal web path for those HTTP targets uses Wemovexa IPTV’s HTTPS relay. The server fetches the upstream resource and rewrites supported HLS references so that subsequent requests use the relay as well. Live catalogue requests have a dedicated Xtream proxy path. This does not mean that every HTTPS media address is automatically proxied: some application paths remain direct and still depend on the remote server’s CORS policy. The distinction matters when comparing two apparently similar sources.

For live HLS, the application prefers native playback when the browser reports support. Other environments use hls.js, with MPEG-TS fallback where supported. Start with the Safari guide or Firefox guide for your browser. Neither a file extension nor a playback library guarantees that the operating system can decode every audio and video format.

Programme information is optional upstream data

Now and next listings depend on what the provider publishes. For an assigned line, the application can request short programme listings for relevant channels. A channel may be playable even when its programme title is missing. The EPG and XMLTV page explains the two data paths and what the interface actually shows. There is no general XMLTV import box in the web settings, so obtaining a separate guide file does not create a new setup step within this player.

Locate the failure before changing settings

If the portal rejects the sign-in, check the player identifier and recovery code. If sign-in succeeds but no catalogue arrives, check the line assignment and whether the provider is reachable. If entries appear but playback fails, try another authorised channel and note the visible error. A provider refusal, including an HTTP 403, can have several causes; it does not identify the proxy as the fault by itself. Close unused playback sessions too, because the provider may enforce a simultaneous-connection limit independently of this interface.

Moving between devices

Signing into the same access elsewhere does not synchronise browser favourites or viewing history. Those are stored locally for the browser profile in use. Keep a personal profile on shared computers and avoid sending complete stream URLs in support screenshots. The device guides provide the next practical steps, while the IPTV Smarters Pro comparison helps frame a choice between different workflows. The player does not grant viewing rights or supply playlists; use your own authorised source as described on the legal-use page.
